Traveling the World - One Day At A time

flight attendant training

At the conclusion of week 3 of training, there are only 4 more days and 1 test!! All 20 of us are ready to be on the first flight to somewhere warm. Training is quit intense however just pay attention and its not bad. Next weekend is hopefully my first paid flight. :D I wonder were I’ll get to fly!

Preparing To Traveling

For Christmas my mother got me a book about traveling. The book is “Safety and Security for Women Who Travel.” I’m 1/3 through the book and it has some very interesting tips. So far I would recommend this book for people traveling outside the US. I plan to travel mostly in the US so some of the things they discuss do not pertain to me but I should still be aware of them. When I finish the book Ill post a review about it. And some of the key tips I have learned.

The Beginning of my Adventures

Recently I took a job as a flight attendant. I am so excited to start this job! There are so many oppurtunities. While some people may think “you just got a degree is science, why are you doing this with your life?” My response to that is why limit myself to science. It will always be there now that i have a degree! I am most excited for the chance to fly all over the US, meet new people, and go places most people cant visit in a life time. I never studyed abroad during college so this is my chance to see what is out there. I have set a couple of goals so I dont lose sight of my science path, specifically forensic science. I will update you on the life af a flight attendant. Interesting passanger stories, people I meet, place I go, and the best things to do in each city.

Goal 1: Find some volunteer oppurtunities in a local high school. I want to work with high school students and forensic science.

Goal 2: I have 2 years of flight attending and after 1 year i will begin looking for a career in forensic science.

Goal 3: I would like the chance to job shadow and visit forensic labs throughout the US.

Goal 4: Work on my presenting/public speaking skills

Goal 5: Look at cities I could possibly see myself living in

Overall, this chance is going to be great for my future and I will learn a lot of the next two years!
